The Physician Practice Pro Forma Financial Model can be used to project forward-looking operations and financial statements for startup physician practices.
This 12-month subscription is updated periodically with four Microsoft Excel (xlsx) files.
- Physician Practice Pro Forma Financial Model.xlsx: This is a complete pro forma model designed for physician practice startups. This editable model allows users to adjust the model for their own needs. The model generates all three standard financial statements (profit & loss income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement). Loan payments are automated to model out debt and interest payments in the financial statements.
- Compensation-to-collection ratios:
- Geography-adjusted & place of service: These two workbooks identify guidance ranges of compensation-to-collection ratios for over 140 specialties in over 100 U.S. markets for services provided in facilities (hospitals), non-facility (office) settings, and overall combined rates for all settings. If you intend to use a collections-based compensation model, then this data can provide a range of compensation rates for your specialty, market, and site of service.
- Geography-adjusted for personally-performed services only: This workbook identifies guidance ranges of compensation-to-collection ratios for over 140 specialties in over 100 U.S. markets for combined sites of service (aggregated), but excludes collections from in-office ancillary services and Stark Designated Health Services (DHS). The Stark Law regulations provide an exception (§411.355(b)) and special rule (§411.352(i)) for distributing ancillary income to physicians through specialty separate cost centers. These compensation-to-collection ratios are intended to be used by practices that maintain separate special cost centers for in-office ancillary services. In other words, if in-office ancillary income is pooled then use these ratios.
